Sofia Lindqvist

Sofia is a type designer at Wrenfold, a small foundry in Gothenburg that draws typefaces for screens and signage. She spends her days on details most readers never notice: the notch where a stroke meets a stem, the spacing of a numeral at 12 pixels.

Her talk looks at how letterforms behave once they reach the browser, from font loading to variable axes. On 18 March she also leads the morning workshop Drawing type for small screens, at 09:00 in Studio 3, where everyone draws a lowercase a and tests it on a phone.
